Welcome to St. Mary’s Primary School and to Lower Mourne. Our school has been serving this area since 1855 and we are extremely proud of the part it has played in the early formation of so many people of the local area.

The Board of Governors and all the staff of our school are committed to providing an education that meets the needs of each individual child. This is delivered within a positive and caring atmosphere where every child is helped to fulfil his/her potential against the background of a strong Christian ethos. We aim to help each child to develop self-esteem, self-confidence and a respect for the world, its people and God our creator.
