Dear Parents
We would like
to thank everyone for the great
attendance at the parent teacher
consultations last week. We hope
that you found the meetings useful
and informative.
Lent begins this
month. We shall be encouraging the
children to prepare for Easter by
helping others, collecting money for
the less well off through Trocaire
and focus on prayer their lives.
Thank You for your continued
support.
Book Fair:
This
takes place next week. It will be
open from 2pm until 3pm each day.
Children can also buy books during
school time. Each child should have
a brochure describing what books are
on offer.The school receives a
percentage of the books sold. Thank
you for your anticipated support
Catholic
Schools Week
: Next
week is Catholic Schools Week. We
shall be doing some special
activities in school to celebrate
this event.
School Experience:
Lisa Rodgers, a student at St Mary’s
University College is beginning her
School Teaching Experience in St
Mary’s. We hope she enjoys her six
weeks with us.
Cross Community Activities:
The younger classes have all
recently enjoyed drama workshops
with the Armagh Rhymers. P6/7 shall
have an opportunity next week to
work with this very talented group.
CLUBS:
After school clubs will begin the
first week after mid term break.
Notes Home:
We try to collate most information
and send it out on the monthly
newsletter. There are however on
occasions that we need to send out
notes at other times. Please ask
your child or check schoolbags
regularly
Secondary Transfer:
Parents of P7 children will have an
opportunity to discuss their child’s
progress and choice of Post Primary
schools on
Wednesday 14th February.
The 20-minute meeting will be by
appointment and parents are invited
to make an appointment by putting
their name beside a time slot.
Please contact the school if this
day is not suitable
Cross Community :
P1,P2 and P3 are travelling to W5 on
Tuesday 12th
Feis:
Please contact Miss
Walsh if you would like your child
to participate in the Feis which
takes place in early March. There
are competitions for every age
group.

Quiz:

who are participating in the
competition on Monday night @ 7pm in
St Colman’s PS, Kilkeel.
