Dear Parents
The staff of St
Mary’s would like to thank you all
for your support and co operation
throughout the year. It is very
much appreciated. Enjoy the summer
holidays and we look forward in
seeing you and your children in
September. Do encourage your
children to keep reading through the
summer and take the opportunity to
revise words, tables and number
bonds.
Thank you to
those parents who participated in
the recent MIST programme. We
appreciate your commitment to your
child’s education and many thanks to
Miss Walsh for her organisation of
the programme.
Thank you to the
parents of the new P1 intake who
attended the recent meeting
regarding the implementation of the
Revised Curriculum which comes on
board next year.

UNIFORMS: Uniforms that were ordered
early have arrived and are available
for collection. The rest of the
uniforms can be collected before
school starts in September.
DINNERS: Due to new regulations
snacks will not be available next
year.
DONATION: Many thanks to the
individual for another generous
donation for the school funds.
MINIBUS: A sincere thank you to the
minibus drivers Kathleen, Patsy and
Mairin and to Glasdrumman GAC for
the unique service that they provide
for the school.
THANK
YOU: Many thanks to Nicola Trimble
who has completed her Child Care
Training and has now taken up a full
time post. Many thanks to Miss Fegan
who has now completed Mrs McEvoys
maternity leave in P1/ Reception. We
wish her well in the future.
GOODBYE:It’s
that time of the year and we say
goodbye to our P7’s. We hope that
they leave St Mary’s with lots of
happy memories. We also say goodbye
to those families whose youngest
child is leaving P7. We wish you
well, thank you for your support in
the past and we hope that you keep
your association with the school.

Congratulations to the boys and
girls of P4 and P7 who recently
received the Sacraments of Holy
Communion and Confirmation
respectively. Many thanks to
everyone for their help in the
children’s preparation.
P7 SHARE Trip:P6
and 7 enjoyed their trip to SHARE.
They will have many good memories to
look back on in the years ahead.
Many thanks to the staff members who
accompanied the children on the
trip.
MOBILE PHONES: A
local charity is collecting mobile
phones. Please send the phones in
and we shall pass them on to the
charity.
DONATION:Many
thanks to the individual who
recently gave the school a generous
donation.
UNIFORMS
The uniforms have been ordered and
should be here before the summer
holidays. If anyone has not yet
ordered please complete an order
form and leave it in the office as
soon as possible.
HOLY
COMMUNION:
P4 children are
invited to attend 11am Mass at St
Joseph’s on Sunday next (10th
June) . They are encouraged to wear
their special First Communion
clothes . This will be the final
meeting of the popular “ Do This In
Memory Of Me” programme in which the
First Communion families
participated in this year.
New
Intake Meeting
A reminder that
an important meeting takes place on
Wednesday 6th June at
7:30pm for next years P1 parents
regarding the Revised NI Curriculum
which begins next year. Mrs Maureen
McConville from the SELB will
facilitate the meeting which takes
place in Annalong Community Centre
GRIDCLUB
This is an excellent website which
is ideal for primary school
children. The school has subscribed
to the site and this enables
children to use the site at home.
Instructions are as follows.

the Grid Club Learning Centre –
Games and Activities. You will need
to type in the Username and Password
for access. These are both in lower

FOOTBALL: Congratulations
to the school team who finished
runners up in the Lower Mourne small
schools soccer tournament. They
defeated Brackenagh and Killowen,
drew with Moneydarragh and were
beaten by the eventual winners
Annalong.
