OCTOBER
2006 NEWSLETTER
HOMEWORK
Everyone has settled in well to the
new school year and are back into
the school routines.
Please make some time so that you
can be available for your child
whilst they are doing their
homework. The amount of time
involved should be linked to your
child’s age and should range from 15
mins in the early years to 50 mins
for the older children (Monday to
Thursday). Usually homework should
involve reading, spellings, learning
words, time’s tables and a variety
of literacy/ numeracy / research
tasks for the older children
If you have any concerns please
speak to your child’s teacher.
Sports Pitch
We all enjoyed
the recent official opening of the
schools redeveloped sports field. A
special thank you to Mrs Mary Doran
for performing the opening and to
the FOSA for all their efforts on
the day. Thank you to those parents
who witnessed the opening. The
children really enjoyed the ice
lollies, balloons and no homework.
We look forward to the pitch being
used to good effect in the
development of the children’s
physical activity.
