NOVEMBER
2006 NEWSLETTER
Welcome Back
We hope the
children enjoyed their mid term
break and return refreshed for the
run up to Christmas.
The teachers have
been busy recently undergoing
training for the Revised Curriculum
which comes on board next year.
Children and teachers in P1 and P5
will be the first to experience the
new curriculum. We shall be
informing you in more detail of how
the changes will affect the teaching
and learning of our children in the
upcoming months. In St Mary’s we aim
to keep pace with educational change
as and when it happens.

We shall be
repeating this worthwhile activity
again this year. As most of you know
we ask you to make up shoe boxes
containing a variety of small gifts
for needy children in areas such as
Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa
Information
leaflets have already been dispersed
and all presents should be returned
as soon as possible. They will be
collected from the school in the
third week of November. Thank you
Halloween:
The children enjoyed a range of
seasonal activities including
ducking for apples, ghost stories
and games. Thank you to everyone who
sent in sweets, etc for our party.
Speech and Language Training:
Miss Walsh, Alanna and Colleen are
undergoing training in the above
project. This will consolidate the
training that Mrs. McEvoy underwent
last year. The children in the
younger classes are reaping the
benefits of this programme.

After school clubs have finished
for the winter months. They will
return in the spring.
Irish News Tokens:
We are collecting tokens for the
Irish News Coaching days. Please
