EMU TRIPS:

UNIFORMS: Please make sure that all uniform orders are in by the end of this week.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS:  After school clubs have started again for P4 – P7. Please encourage your child to attend these activities

DAIRY COUNCIL: P6 and 7 enjoyed an informative and interesting presentation from the above organization on the subject of Healthy eating

 

P7 SHARE Trip:
A kit list and arrangements will be sent out this week for the upcoming residential with Newcastle PS.  Hopefully the weather will be pleasant for the week.

 

P7 Confirmation

Fri 12th May Sacrament of Confirmation in St Joseph’s at 12 noon. School will close at 11am on that morning. It would be helpful if parents could collect their children at this time. There will be an early lunch.

Holy Communion Preparation Sunday 14th May

 

P4 children are invited to attend either 10am Mass in St Mary’s or 11am Mass in St Joseph’s.  There will be a special Homily for the children and they will sit in reserved seats at the front of the church. They will also be invited to join Fr Peter and Fr Harry on the altar during the celebration of the Eucharist. Please make the school aware of which Mass your child will be attending

GRIDCLUB

This is an excellent  website which is ideal for primary school children. The school has subscribed to the site and this enables children to use the site at home.

Instructions are as follows.

 

Go to the website at www.gridclub.com  and log on to the Grid Club Learning Centre – Games and Activities. You will need to type in the Username and Password for access. These are both in lower case

Newcastle Lions: Thank you to the Lions for their kind donation of £250.  They are highlighting   “Stranger Danger” through a poster competition. Two posters will be chosen and featured in a Calendar

 

FOOTBALL

Congratulations to the football team who started off their league with a 5-3 to 3-3 win over Moneydarragh last week. Let’s hope they can keep up the good form for the upcoming matches.

CONFIRMATION Friday 12th May

 

School closes at 11am.

P7 children are not to attend school on that morning.

P6 children who are in the choir can go home after the service.

Parents and guests who are attending the Confirmation Service should arrive early.

 

Healthy Break times: A short reminder that milk and water are the only drinks allowed at break time. Please do not send in any fruit drinks or yoghurt drinks. Thank you.

  SPORTS DAY

 

Sports Day has been provisionally booked for Wednesday 7th June.

 

TOKENS

We are also collecting tokens for the Irish News Trip to Croke Park and Tesco Vouchers for schools

Dear Parents

 

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fund raising during Lent whether it was a money contribution or one of the 120 eggs that were donated for the Easter raffle. A figure of around £600 has been raised for our Lenten charities- Trocaire and Heartstart.

 

P7 and P4 are looking forward to Confirmation and First Communion and thank you for your help in their preparation for these Sacraments.

 

Please make note of the dates as there are a number of trips and events in the upcoming weeks.
