Everyone is now
back in their stride after the
Christmas Season.
There are a lot
of important meetings this month
involving Secondary School Transfer,
pupil progress and Sacrament
preparation. We all look forward to
meeting you over the next few weeks.

COFFEE MORNING
The coffee morning takes place on
Saturday 4th February
from 10am to Noon in Annalong
Community Centre. All proceeds to
Southern Area Hospice Services
CREDIT UNION QUIZ
The school has
entered two teams, one from P6 and
one from P7 in the annual Credit
Union Quiz. It will take place in St
Colman’s PS at 7pm on Monday 6th
February. Could the children who are
going please inform Mr Madine
whether they need transport to the
event or not- by Friday. Thank You.
It usually lasts about 2 hours.
Holy
Communion Meeting
There
is a meeting for P4 parents in St
Mary’s Church Glasdrumman on Tuesday
7th February at 7.30pm.
Parents should have already received
a letter from Fr Peter
MID TERM BREAK/TRAINING DAY:
The school will be closed on Monday
20th and Tuesday 21st
February for Mid Term Break.
There is a Training Day on Friday 10th
February. The focus is on ICT.
EMU WORKSHOPS
P1-3 are going to W5 on Wednesday 8th
February. They should be home around
2.45 pm. Reception children are not
to attend school on that day.
P6/7 have an Art Workshops on Sri
Lankan Art on Thursday 16th
Feb and Wed 22nd Feb
Secondary Transfer: Parents
of P7 children will have an
opportunity to discuss their child’s
progress and choice of Post Primary
schools on Wednesday 8th
February. The 20-minute meeting will
be by appointment and parents are
invited to make an appointment by
putting their name beside a time
slot.
Mr. Madine will be available 9.20am
-12.30pm and 1.30-4.00pm.
Please contact the school if this
day is not suitable.
IRISH NEWS TOKENS:
Please keep sending the tokens in.

HURLING TOURNAMENT:
There will be an indoor hurling
tournament in The Kingdom’s Hall on
Friday 10th Feb. Although
the teachers are on a Training Day
and there are no classes for
children arrangements are being made
to allow the children to compete in
the tournament. More details later.
DOWN GAA QUIZ
Congratulations to Conor, Connor,
James and Paddy who represented the
school in the recent Quiz. They
finished a magnificent fifth out of
16 teams. The school also received a
leather ball from the Down GAA.

Saint Brigid cross during Mass on St
Brigid’s Day.

QUIZ NIGHT
We
have another Quiz Night on Friday 3rd
March. The Quiz Master will be Mr.
Tony Bannon. It will take place in
the Half Way House and proceedings
will begin at 9.30pm. Please come
along and support the Friends of the
School in their fundraising efforts
and have a good nights craic.
PARENT
MEETINGS:
Parents will have an opportunity to
discuss their child's progress on
Wednesday 15th February. The
ten-minute meetings will be by
appointment and will begin at
12.30pm. Parents are invited to make
an appointment by putting their name
beside their favoured time slot. The
appointments board will be up at the
school this week. If you cannot
personally come to the school and
make an appointment perhaps a friend
or older child could do it for you.
You could also send a note in to the
class teacher with a suitable time.
Failing that you can come along to
the meeting and take whatever time
slots are left.
All teachers will
be available from 12.30pm - 4.30pm
on Wednesday 15th
February. If this day does not suit
please contact your child’s teacher
to make alternative arrangements.
There will be
early dinner on that day and
children will finish school at Noon.
