St Louis Technology Challenge: Some members of P7 will take place in the annual challenge on Thursday morning.

Recycling: Thank you to everyone who sent in the clothes for recycling. Eighty two bags were collected.

 

Christmas Dinner: Many thanks to Mairin and Sinead for a beautiful Christmas Dinner on Wednesday.   

Mourne Heritage: P4 and P5 recently planted some trees at the Silent Valley. This is part of an ongoing project with the Mourne Heritage .A nature trail is planned for P6 and P7    in Tollymore Forest Park next week.

Visiting Principals: The school recently enjoyed a visit from a group of Principals from Tipperary, Clare and Louth. It was part of a cross border fact finding trip. They found the trip interesting and very beneficial.

Dear Parents

Many thanks to everyone who sent in parcels for Operation Christmas Child. Your kindness has insured that 90 children in Eastern Europe and Africa will celebrate Christmas that much better. It has also given our children the opportunity to appreciate the quality of their own lifestyles.

Please take a note of dates of important events that are happening in the school over December. I would like to highlight Wednesday 13th December as the older children are presenting “Rock Around The Flock” at 1.15pm and 7.30pm.

Everyone has been working hard so we wish them well on the big night.

 

PANTOMIME: The school shall be attending the Pantomime “Aladdin” on Monday 18th December. The children will come to school as normal and will leave for Belfast after an early lunch. The buses should be back by 5.30pm.  A detailed letter will be sent out shortly. There are enough tickets for those that ordered.

Raffle Donations: We normally have a free raffle for our senior citizens guests at the afternoon performance of our Christmas Show. Any donations will be gratefully accepted.

 

Cross Community Activities: A full program of activities and trips has been agreed with our partner school Newcastle PS and the Education Boards. A new initiative is a one night residential for P4/5 in the spring at the Ulster Folk Park. Full details will follow in the next newsletter. We are asking for  a donation of £5 per family to help towards transport costs. Thank you.

 

Christmas Show: This year it is the turn of the older children to present the Christmas Show. They will be presenting “ Rock Around The Flock”.The first performance will take place on Wednesday 13th December at 1.15pm. This will be repeated in the evening at 7.30pm.  The younger children will also perform some festive songs in the afternoon. Reception children can remain in school that day until the end of the performance. As usual we extend an invite to all parents, grandparents, relations and friends to attend the performance. The Marine Friendship Group will be our special guests at the afternoon performance. There is no admission charge to either show but voluntary donations will be gratefully received at the evening performance.

Speaking and Listening

Miss Walsh  and P2/3 are involved in a Speaking and Listening program this year. This program is building on the work undertaken by Mrs. McEvoy and P1 last year. The present P1 are also involved in the program.

Cross Community Trip: P6 and P7 shall be meeting their partners from Newcastle PS for their initial meeting on Wednesday 6th Dec.

Switching on Christmas Lights: Everyone is invited to the switching on of the Christmas Tree lights in Annalong on Friday night. Full details on attached flyer.

 If any parent has changed their personal details such as  mobile numbers please inform the school of any changes.
