2005 NEWSLETTER
Welcome Back
We welcome back
Mrs McEvoy to the school following
her maternity. So instead of two
little people to look after she now
has a lot more to look after with
the boys and girls in P1 and
Reception class.
With Mrs McEvoy
coming back we said good bye to Miss
Hanna. She really enjoyed herself in
St Mary’s over the past year and we
thank her and wish her well in her
future career.
We hope the
children enjoyed their mid term
break and return refreshed for the
run up to Christmas.
The teachers have
been busy recently undergoing 2 Days
of Numeracy Training. Children will
undoubtedly benefit from this and in
St Mary’s we aim to keep pace with
educational change as and when it
happens.

Good
Bye : The school recently said
good bye to our dinner time
supervisor Martina McCabe. Martina
has served the school well over the
past number of years and we thank
her for her time with us. We wish
her well for the future.
US Trip
I
recently spent a few days in the USA
visiting our partner schools in
Portville and Wellsville in upstate
New York. It was extremely
interesting and informative with the
highlight being a video conference
in which I was able to communicate
with my own class P6/7 from the
distance learning lab in New York.
The class had prepared a video
diary describing various aspects of
life around Glasdrumman and the two
classes also swapped “Care Boxes”
which contained a variety of items
including football jerseys,, sweets,
magazines etc. The project will
allow our children continue to
develop a wider awareness of the
people and cultures that share this
world with us.
