APRIL
2005 NEWSLETTER
UNIFORM:
Order forms for next years uniform
will be sent out shortly. This is to
ensure that parents will have the
uniform before the summer holidays
begin.
Congratulations to the Primary 3
children who made their First
Confession recently. It was a lovely
service and the children performed
their roles well. A special thanks
to Miss Hanna and Colleen for their
help in the children's preparation.
Best
wishes for the month ahead.
GREEN DAY :
The
school enjoyed a very successful
Green day. We would like to thank
everyone for their help with the
costumes and donations to charity
FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL CHILDREN'S
PARTY:
Many
thanks to everyone involved in the
organisation of the party in the AOH.
By all reports it was a great
afternoon and £200 was raised for
school funds. A special thank you to
the AOH for their kind use of their
facilities.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS:
These clubs will definitely begin on
Monday 11th April. They are open to
P4-P7 children . The children will
receive details during the week.
DISTANCE LEARNING:
The
school recently had video conference
equipment installed. P6/P7 were able
to enjoy two video conferences
before Easter. They communicated
with the children from Presentation
Convent PS in Tralee, Kerry and
they then followed this with a
session with a school in New York in
which they told the American
children about the life of St
Patrick. We are looking to build on
these links over the upcoming months
and extend them to include the other
classes.
STAFFING:
Miss
Walsh is returning to school at the
start of term and will resume her
teaching duties with P2/P3. Miss
Hanna will move to Reception/P1. Mrs
Murphy has started her maternity
leave. We wish them all well
Many
thanks for your support regarding
the wearing of tracksuits. The
appearance of tracksuits is much
less frequent. Your support is
appreciated in maintaining the
positive image of the school.
GLASDRUMMAN GAC:
Best wishes to the club on the year
ahead with the resumption of the
Down leagues this week.
