2004 NEWSLETTER
Many thanks to everyone who sent
in parcels for Operation Christmas
Child. Your kindness has insured
that 83 children in Eastern Europe
will celebrate Christmas that much
better.
PANTOMIME:
The pantomime takes place on
Tuesday 14th December. The children
will come to school as normal. They
will leave for Belfast after an
early lunch. A further letter shall
be sent out detailing arrangements.
The buses should be back in
Glasdrumman/Annalong around 6.00pm.
CHRISTMAS SHOW:
It is the turn of the older
children to present the Christmas
show. This year they will be
presenting “Grandfathers Story” The
event takes place on Wednesday 15th
December. with the dress rehearsal
taking place at 1.30pm. The younger
children will also perform some
songs in the afternoon. Reception
children can remain in school that
day until the end of the
performance.
There will another performance of
“Grandfathers Story” at 7.30pm on
the Wednesday night. As usual we
extend an invite to all parents,
relations and friends to attend the
performances.
The school will not open until
1130am on Thursday morning to enable
the actors and actresses to have a
beauty sleep!
CONFIRMATION:
There will be Commitment
Service for all P7’s at the
weekend masses in the Parish this
weekend.
TALK TO ME BOXES:
Thank you to everyone who came
to the launch of the “Talk to Me
Boxes”It was very encouraging and
affirming to see such a great crowd.
Please make sure and give us
feedback about this new initiative.
Comments about the suitability of
the tasks would be very useful.
WEBB IVORY:
The orders from this company are
arriving daily and will be sent out
as soon as possible. We apologise
for any delay.
SCHOOL UNIFORM:
An
order for uniform will be sent out
early next week . If anyone needs
any item please complete an order
form.

DENTAL CHECK UP:
P1. P2 an P7 will have a check
up on the morning of Tuesday 14th
December.Please return the forms.
St Louis Quiz :
The P7 maths team performed very
well in the recent quiz. Well done
to Stacey, Canice, Richard and
Barry.
Infant pantomime:
The younger children enjoyed
their visit to the panto in
Downpatrick. Apologies about the
late return of the bus.
ENROLMENT WEEKEND:
Congratulations to the P3 children
who recently enrolled for
preparation for the Sacraments of
Reconciliation and First Communion
GOVERNORS:
The annual meeting takes place
on Thursday 9th December at 8pm. It
is followed by a full Governors
meeting.
QUIZ NIGHT and RAFFLE:
Many thanks to the FOSA for
organising a very successful raffle
and “Tony Bannon” Quiz night in the
Halfway House A very enjoyable night
was had by all and over £1300 was
raised.It was great to see so many
new faces amongst our regular
supporters. Thank you.
SWIMMING:
The final session for the year
takes place on Thursday 9th
December.
DECEMBER DATES:
The school will be closed on
Wednesday 8th December.
Friday 19th December : Children's
Party.
There will be a half day on Thursday
23rd December. Children can leave at
midday. There will be no dinners
on that day.
There is a Training Day (ICT) on
Monday 10th January.
School reopens for children on
Tuesday 11th January 2004.
NEW PUPILS:
A special welcome to Oran McCaig,
Jonathan McVeigh, Amy and Lisa
Mooney . We wish them well in their
time at St Mary’s.
Although it seems early to be saying
this the staff would like to wish
everyone a Happy Christmas and a
Peaceful New Year.
